Explaining Fracking to the Police

Here's a video of Ian R Crane engaging with the Sussex police and attempting to explain fracking to them. The recent events at Balcombe have I am sure confirmed the views of anyone who ever believed that the primary function of the police is the protection of the Corporate State, but they of course are going to have to live in Fracktured areas too.

There's an Avaaz petition going calling for an end of police aggression against peaceful protesters.  To my mind the protesters are essentially protecting not violating private property rights, given that the action the fracking firm Cuardilla want to take could decimate the price of land in that area, in addition to peoples health and well being.

http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/An_End_To_Police_Aggression_When_Arresting_Peaceful_Protesters/?copy

And here's Ian again explaining the dangers of fracking to a BBC radio journalist, a very good concise interview.

Here's a Link to Guardian article on falling property prices in fracking areas.  Kind of undermines the States pledge to pour money into community projects, ten million pounds per community over twenty to twenty five years, but your house maybe worth bugger all.

Telegraph article about the Country wide backlash against fracking the protests in Balcombe has created.  I partiuarly enjoyed the part where Somerst Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg says he disapproves of 'rent-a-mob buses of hooligans coming in to protest'.  It's ironic given that all the photos I've seen so far are of the police acting as 'rent-a-mob hooligans' against entirely peaceful protestors.

Conscious TV - What is Enlightenment?

The ever excellent Conscious TV has just uploaded a host of new video interviews, exploring the nature of enlightenment, non-duality, spiritual activism, healing and quantum physics.  All available at this link:

I’ve selected this one as my favourite, a panel discussion on ‘What is Enlightenment?’ The three panellists, Paul Smit, Tim Freke and Gary Weber, have all been deeply immersed in the philosophy of the East and yet have three very contrasting perspectives on this question.  It’s my view that whilst the importation of Eastern philosophy over the past fifty years has been just the best thing ever, it would still be to everyone’s benefit to question the concepts that we’re taking on.  Conscious TV is leading the way in this.

FRACKtured Future

Ian Crane has just completed a tour of the UK where he has been talking about his deeply held concerns over the safety of fracking.  He has produced a DVD of his presentation which is available from his website, however due to the importance and urgency of this issue, he has also chosen to make the information freely available online.  At two hours and forty six minutes it’s not the kind of short video I usually like to link to here, but it is doubtlessly a highly valuable resource for anyone concerned about frackings implications.

Ian did not copyright this presentation, in the hope of spreading the message as far and wide as possible.  If you value this work please do go to his website and buy a copy of the DVD, in which the presentation is broken down into more manageable chunks.

Conspiracy Theory or Deep Geopolitics?

I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who attended the ‘Conspiracy Theory or Deep Geopolitics?’ event with Ian R Crane last week on the Isle of Man.  Hardly anyone felt the need to buy advanced tickets, so neither Ian nor I knew if it was going to be a great success or a complete flop until the doors opened.  As it happens there were just shy of seventy people in attendance, which we were both very happy with!  So thank you all for coming and supporting the event, especially those of you who have serious points of departure from Ian’s views, I’m glad the evening didn’t turn out to be a monoculture of thought!

I’d particularly like to thank the people who worked to promote this event with flyers and over facebook, and the people at Manx Radio and Isle of Man Newspapers for all their efforts.  Also thanks to The Empress Hotel, which I would highly recommend as a venue for anyone looking to put a similar event on.

Sections of the talk were filmed and I’ll be uploading them to this blog soon, you can forward them to your friends who stayed at home to show them what they missed!

Melanie Philips, Iran and Russell Brand

The above is a three minute and thirteen second video of Melanie Philips calling for war with Iran due to the threat that country poses to Britain's national security.  It quite amazed me, this lady actually seems to want death and destruction, it seems to be preferable to her to peaceful resolutions with a country that hasn't launched an aggressive war in over two hundred years.   Ms. Philips portrays the Iranian political elite as irrational religious fundamentalists, who cannot be reasoned with as their overwhelming desire is to set the world on fire to bring about the return of the twelfth Imam.  They must therefore be wiped out.

Upon seeing this clip I pulled my Iran books of the shelf and was going to blog about why Ms. Philips was wrong about Iran's irrationality and appetite for destruction, how it is in fact the United States (Britain in tow) that has continuously and deliberately sabotaged negotiations with Iran and thrown attempts at reconciliation made by Iran back into its face.*   Basically the exact opposite of what you hear on the night time news.  But then I read Russell Brand's (also on the panel that night) take on the whole episode in the Guardian, and I thought he'd just captured it perfectly, so I'll just quote him instead.  (He's referring to meeting the other panelists before the show)

"Somehow, after a polite hello from Boris and a reference to the MSNBC clip, I end up being mother (which was weird, because my actual mother was there, so I don't know who she was being) and serve the drinks. A few people have wine, most have water, and I wind up chatting to Melanie Phillips. Melanie is a columnist for the Daily Mail and is mostly known for her knee-jerk, right-wing, hang-em-high vitriol. In person, inconveniently, she is beautiful. Deep brown, soulful eyes, elegant features and a truthful, caring sincerity in her tone. It is surprising and bizarre, then, to see her contort on air into a taut, jabbing Gollum figure, untutored index finger fucking the audience in the face when they pipe up about Syria or whatever. Oddly, I still like her, regarding her opinions as an arbitrary appurtenance that she pops on in public, like a daft hat that says "Immigrants Out" on the brim. When the audience – who, incidentally, make all the best points – boo her, I think it a shame. The wall of condemnation is an audible confirmation that the world is a fearful and unloving place. Like most of us, Melanie just needs a cuddle."

Sometimes, Geopolitics really aren't the issue.

Burma: Stop the next Rwanda

I've been hearing an increasing amount about the plight of the Rohingya people of Burma in recent months.  Concerns of ethnic cleansing and a looming genocide.   Avaaz has launched a petition in the hope of pressuring David Cameron and Francois Hollande to raise this issue when they meet the Burmese President this month.   It's always a little depressing when such heavy things are going on in the world, and all you can do is sign a petition, but it's surely better than nothing.   Politicians are I suppose at least concerned about their public appearance, and Burmese politicians seem increasingly concerned about how their country is viewed in the wider world these days.

Here's the text from Avaaz, with a link where you can sign the protest, they've nearly reached their goal of a million people!

'Most people didn't know who the Rwandans were until it was too late, and 800,000 of them were dead. Right now, the fate of Burma's Rohingya people is hanging by a thread. Racist thugs have distributed leaflets threatening to wipe out this small Burmese minority. Already children have been hacked to death and unspeakable murders committed. All signs are pointing to a coming horror, unless we act.

Genocides happen because we don't get concerned enough until the crime is committed. The Rohingya are a peaceful and very poor people. They're hated because their skin is darker and the majority fear they’re 'taking jobs away'. There are 800,000 of them, and they could be gone if we don't act. We've failed too many peoples, let's not fail the Rohingya.

Burmese President Thein Sein has the power, personnel and resources to protect the Rohingya, all he has to do is give the word to make it happen. In days, he’ll arrive in Europe to sell his country’s new openness to trade. If EU leaders greet him with a strong request to protect the Rohingya, he’s likely to do it. Let’s get 1 million voices and plaster images of what’s happening in Burma outside his meetings with key EU heads of state.'

And here's a video of Abby Martin from back in April. She's interviewing the journalist on the ground Assed Baig, about the persecution of the Rohingya people he's witnessed.

Conspiracy Theory or Deep Geopolitics? - Ian R Crane on the Isle of Man

Have you ever wondered whether 9/11 was an inside job?  Or the 2008 financial crash a manufactured crisis?   Whether pharmaceutical and oil companies suppress medicines and technology that would help humanity, but hurt their profits?  Have you ever wondered if a corporate oligarchy is the real power behind our seemingly democratic governments?   On Saturday the 20th of July, Ian R Crane is coming to the Isle of Man to present his case that the world is truly very different to what we imagine it to be.

Ian Crane is an ex-oilfield executive who was one of the first civilians to enter Kuwait after the first Gulf War.  What he saw there so shocked him that he began a long journey to re-evaluate everything he thought he knew about the way the world works.  Subsequent to the events of September 11th 2001, Ian began to give public lectures on his research.   In this talk on the Isle of Man, he will discuss the experiences and research that have led him to form his unique perspective on the world, covering such topics as false flag terrorism, manipulation of the financial markets, genetically modified food and his latest research on the dangers of fracking.

Ian's opinions are controversial and would be labelled by many as 'conspiracy theories'.  This lecture is intended to provide an opportunity for residents of the Isle of Man to decide for themselves.   Agree or disagree, it will certainly be an interesting and challenging evening for all.

Here's a video to show you what you can expect

Saturday 20th July, 7:30pm, The Empress Hotel, Central Prom, Douglas,
Isle of Man

Tickets £8 in Advance, £10 on the Door

Big Mac Anyone?

It would seem McDonald's Restaurant has refused to open a outlet in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank.  Although the chain has 180 restaurants in Israel, apparently there's been a long standing policy of not operating across the 1967 border, on occupied Palestinian land.

Now, I would suggest, that when McDonald's.....MCDONALD's, consider you too amoral to do business with, the time really has come to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Read more about it at in the Guardian:

Mind Manipulation in the Media?

When I clicked on the below video I certainly didn't plan on watching the full half hour, however after about two minutes I was hooked!   It's a totally cynical look at the 'interview' techniques used by mainstream media pundits, in this case Sean Hannity.   Mr. Hannity is interviewing a University Professor who is asserting that the September 11th terrorist attacks were an inside job and that World Trade Centre Building Seven was brought down by controlled demolition.  If I viewed this clip, all I would see is Sean Hannity acting like a jerk, nothing unusual about that. What I wouldn't have picked up on is the possibility that this whole interview is actually a highly orchestrated effort to discredit such ideas in the public psyche, employing dirty verbal tricks and hand gestures to lead peoples minds in the desired direction.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if FOX and other such stations send their pundits on all sorts of training to do with psychological manipulation, in fact I'd be amazed if they didn't.   Still maybe the guy analysing this interview is going too far at times, particularly with the 666 stuff.  What I find interesting though is that many people, myself included, would see Sean Hannity (and his like) as nothing more than an ill-educated jerk.  It's interesting to look through another lens and consider maybe he is highly intelligent in a nefarious way and knows exactly what he's doing at all times.

Ok, that's two articles in a row featuring Mr. Hannity now, which is at least three more than he deserves.   I promises I'll never mention him again.
